Ms. Saide asked some parents to make some play dough for the 2C Rock Stars. Did you wonder what it was for? Our students were waiting patiently to discover how the colorful dough on the counter was going to be used. Well, earlier this week their patience was rewarded. They used the play dough to create 3D maps of landforms. Each color represented something different.

Community Day 2014

Every fall the 2nd Grade spends some time getting to know their classmates and school surroundings.  This year we started our Community Day in the outdoor classroom and did a morning meeting with the entire 2nd grade. Next, we separated into groups and explored the CA campus. We had a Bingo card that suggested 16 different places on campus to visit. Once we made it to the spot we got to cross it off our card. Our goal was to have a BLACKOUT on the Bingo card.
Many of us were very successful.

In the afternoon the teachers had 4 stations that involved some cooperative games.
One game even involved water balloons.

This is Beckett during his Rock Start week. He brought in one of his favorite baseball gloves to share with the class. The class was really intrigued on how it smelled and why Beckett wants it worn in rather than stiff and new. The class really enjoyed his snack of delicious brownies !!!

We celebrated a couple of birthdays over the past two weeks.

Happy Birthday, Seth !!!

Happy Birthday, Eli !!

Eli's sister, Vivian, came for the celebration
